Nomination of Terrance Cole as head of the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is unlikely to be great overall for either the cannabis or intoxicating hemp-derived cannabinoid (IHDC) industries.

However, US president Donald Trump has expressed support for cannabis rescheduling, and it is unlikely his nominee will oppose his direction on the issue.

Cole is Trump’s second non-interim nominee for heading the DEA – formally titled DEA administrator.
