Thailand’s new government has said it will not reclassify cannabis as an illegal drug as it seeks to end a legal limbo that has chilled investor interest in the country’s nascent weed industry.
On 19th September, the Ministry of Public Health issued a draft law to regulate cannabis, which was open for public comment until 30th September. Under the proposed law, licences would be required for the cultivation, production, sale, import and export of cannabis and its extracts, except for cannabis roots, branches, stems, leaves, trunks or seeds.
